Why should you even crochet?

Since the internet became popular, more and more people are trading handcrafting arts for a keyboard and a mouse. Today, I will be giving you five reasons why you should crochet.

1.) Crocheting Reduces Anxiety

If you are having a stressful day or just a very busy day, you can unwind by crocheting for 30 minutes to an hour and you will feel so much more relaxed.

2.) Making Special Handmade Gifts

Since I love using Google Trends. I found that over 13 years, people have been researching “handmade” more often withing the past 6 years. Also Etsy, the handmade craft site has been searched even more than ever! People just love homemade crafts!

3.) Working on projects when you are bored

Whenever you are bored you can pick up your latest project to keep you occupied for hours! Also people with overeating problems, have reported they are eating less because they are focusing on crochet.

4.) It May Reduce or Postpone Dementia

While doing your favorite craft, you can postpone age-related memory loss. Having to remember *SC in the next 2 ST, CH 1, HDC in next 3 ST, CH 1* Repeat from * is hard work for your brain. Or at least for me! (:

5.) Creating your own accessories/clothing

Since the industrial age, we have not needed to make your own clothing. But it is so refreshing when you do make yourself your own scarf, hat, gloves etc. Plus, you can customize it as much as you want and it will never be an exact copy of anyone else’s.

I hope I have convinced you to learn to crochet (or to keep on crocheting!)

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and please show support by following perfectly crocheted!

This is a great post! I have been crocheting for decades (long before the internet was invented) and it is very relaxing plus all of the other benefits you mentioned! Everyone should learn how to crochet! 😀
